About the (Senior) Cloud Application Security Architect Role:

As a trusted partner of the application teams and in collaboration with central Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams, you will design and execute secure infrastructure for the AWS-centric application portfolio and digital/data platforms.

You will also support these teams in the areas of application security architecture, identity and access management, and the design and implementation of IT security controls, as well as assist in the selection of the right security tools and services for the application portfolio’s S-SDLC processes, taking suggested practises and prices into account.

Other responsibilities include securing infrastructure components and assisting with the migration of the application portfolio from a shared AWS account to one that has multiple accounts and assuming leadership in the IT Security forums and workgroups, contributing to the improvement of organisational cohesiveness and skill level.

Creating actionable requirements for the teams by assisting in the design and alignment of the applications, and owning requirement frameworks and implementation guidelines. Doing all of this whilst abiding by recommended practises for secure cloud infrastructure and adhering to design principles, security standards, and group-wide company policies.

Strengthening the internal resources for cloud and application security, and leading the company through upskilling initiatives is key.

Key Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field
• Relevant AWS certifications, specifically in the security and architecture fields, such as e.g. SAA-C03, SAP-C01, SCS-C01
• Experienced in designing and implementing security mechanisms for AWS cloud environments, including expertise with cloud-native solutions, AWS KMS, and AWS Security Hub
• A history of managing or advising expert software development teams on best practices throughout the whole S-SDLC, from secure design and threat modelling to secure release and operations
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and Secure CI/CD for technological stacks using Docker Containers, Terraform IaC, SAST/DAST/IAST, Vulnerability Management
• Comprehensive understanding of Privileged Access Management, Privileged Identity Management, and Single Sign-On (SSO) for cloud platforms
