Rates: €70 – €90 per hour

Our client, a Belgian Insurer, is in search of an experienced Information Security Officer (ISO) to join their esteemed team. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience to play a pivotal role in fortifying our information security framework.

Role Overview:

As an Information Security Officer (ISO), you will step into a 12-month extendable contract position with the possibility of extension and permanent employment. Your primary responsibility will be to safeguard the business information assets by developing and implementing robust security strategies and protocols for specific business entities. Your technical expertise is essential, but equally vital is your ability to shape and maintain a culture of security awareness across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on cybersecurity for internal projects and initiatives.
• Ensure applications, processes, and vendors comply with security standards.
• Assist in risk identification, management, and action plan development.
• Conduct security maturity assessments.
• Provide regular information security reports to senior management.
• Stay current with cybersecurity trends to enhance security policies.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of information security experience, including 1 year in risk management.
• Translate technical security topics for business understanding.
• Proficient in Dutch and English.
• Proactive, initiative-taking, critical, and creative.
• CISSP, CISM, or similar certification is ideal.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 2700 and NIST.

Contract Details:

• Initial 12-month contract, with extensions
• On-site presence 2/3 days per week near Brussels (negotiable).
