Role Overview:

In this position, you will lead and oversee essential finance functions, taking charge of designing and implementing robust financial processes, policies, controls, and risk management procedures. Your main focus will be on Financial Operations, Financial Management & Accounting, Planning & Analysis, and Financial Reporting (including reporting to funders). Additionally, you will collaborate with our Credit team, Group finance team, and provide support to our Strategic Finance team, handling areas like debt funding, hedging strategy, and shareholder reporting.

You will be responsible for driving the performance, planning, and development of the core finance teams.

As the Finance Controller, you will have the opportunity to take ownership and manage the development of our core finance and control capabilities as we continue to expand.

You’ll be:

• Overseeing all financial operations, including statutory reporting, cash flow management, debtor management, financial performance, invoicing, asset purchasing, contract amendments, and data input and recording in our systems.
• The internal expert on accounting treatments and policies, particularly related to vehicle leases, funding/securitization structures, and hedging.
• In charge of owning and coordinating internal controls and procedures.
• Providing timely and relevant financial Management Information (MI) to the Senior Leadership team to inform business strategy and support commercial decision-making.
• Collaborating with data, systems, and reporting teams to improve our core processes and data flows, creating scalable, robust, and efficient procedures.
• Driving a balance between commercial flexibility to support our sales teams and implementing robust, policy-driven financial and risk management practices.
• Responsible for creating the financial processes and policies for new geographical markets as we enter them.
• Involved in planning, hiring, and managing the team, taking the lead on their performance and output.
• The voice for core finance on our Leadership Team, representing and advocating for financial interests and strategies.
• Encouraging a culture of collaboration within the finance team and across the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Excellent experience in Finance, preferably in a regulated lending/leasing environment.
• Experience with asset-backed lending and hedging, ideally.
• An accounting qualification with a good understanding of financial leases.
• An aptitude for the technical aspects of accounting and finance.
• A passion for, and experience of, using technology to drive automation and efficiency in a finance function.
• The ability to plan and scale teams effectively.
• Good communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• To be a problem solver who can involve others in your decision-making process.

• Experience with FCA guidelines and requirements.
