Key responsibilities:
- Provide 1/2/3 line technical support for automated and manual trading environments, including in-house and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with Linux, Network, and Cybersecurity administration teams to monitor systems and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
- Manage the entire IT infrastructure in close collaboration with the IT Engineering team.
- Engage in technical problem-solving, diagnosing and resolving issues at the desktop, server, and network levels.
- Listen patiently to end-users, analyze problems, and provide timely resolutions.
- Contribute to the IT Operations group overseeing a mixed Linux and Windows environment across multiple continents.
- Ensure colleagues can focus on their daily work by making impactful decisions.
Requirements:
- You have a full right to work in the UK and have worked with a finance, investment banking, trade research or asset management firmĀ for longer than 5 years.
- You possess a solid foundation in information technology and networking principles, with technical proficiency in networking, programming, or system administration.
- Your knowledge and training in Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems and best practices in a production environment are strong.
- You have a working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other common Windows administration subsystems.
- Your verbal communication skills are clear, concise, and empathetic.
- You excel in written communication, including documenting technical procedures and maintaining knowledge base articles for users and fellow Engineers.
- You are open to occasional evening or weekend work.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system and computing environment is a bonus.
- Technical proficiency in programming or scripting for the Windows platform, particularly PowerShell, is a bonus.
- A degree in STEM or related subjects is preferred but not required.
